Escape Velocity Grants

Priyanka Reddy is a 20 year old National Muay Thai champion (we lost track of the gold medals). Due to financial constraints, she is unable to participate in more events. With the grant, she will be able to prepare and participate in more events. {Anonymous donor}

Penshang is a masters program student in Water Policy & Governance from TISS. She is going to use the Rs. 50k grant for her dissertation thesis on issues of water access, distribution and sanitation in rural and hilly regions of NE, India. {Sponsored by an anonymous donor}

Sunil is from Odisha and is currently facing troubles in paying his final year graduation fees because of the untimely death of his father.

He regularly participates in hackathons and workshops and describes himself as being a tech explorer.

Pranjal is pursuing a master’s in bioanalytical science. To keep up with the finances in his family, he took up teaching physics at a local coaching centre.

He wants to use the grant to attend Haffkin Institute’s course and use the rest towards paying his college tuition fee.

Simranjeet wants to grow and take a finance course to prepare herself for a job. She wants to change the direction of her family’s financial situation.

She will be using the grant to purchase a laptop to help her in creating proof of work and towards her studies in finance.

Sudeep is a digital artist, using his phone to draw commissioned portraits. Art is his calling and he intends to use the grant to pay off debt and invest in better equipment for making digital art. He takes commissioned portrait work at https://instagram.com/sudeep1.6/

Samuel Sinate is the Number 1 Roller freestyle skater (inline) in the country. On the Indian team for the World Roller Games in Buenos Aires, from 23rd October – 13th of November. He is going to use the grant towards training costs. This grant is sponsored by @AabhashK

Subrata Bharadwaj is pursuing two technical degrees – engineering and data science. He is accepted into a research project on Small Scale Wind Energy Generation at Jadavpur University. The grant will pay off the loans that his father took to buy him a laptop + research travel

Shivank is a law student who cleared the entrance of South Asian University for Masters in International Law. They run a digital art account (http://instagram.com/mixedartpasta) and are going to rely on art sales to pay the fees for the course. The grant will help pay semester fee.
